EMILY + IMOGEN | LGBTQ INTIMATE CHICAGO WEDDING

My mind still can't wrap around the fact that we got to hang out with these two perfect women on their perfect day.  They are UNREAL.  They are intoxicating and gorgeous and truly amazing people.

Walking in their crowded hotel room of friends, moms, and kids, you already knew how loved and supported they are.  And in a world where the LGBTQ community definitely lacks support, it made me cry every time I thought about it.

Once the room was emptied for the girls to get ready, Emily and Imogen separated and got into their gorgeous gowns.  Then Imi walked out to the balcony and waited for her girl.  We all got to witness the gushfest that happened after that, two dresses, two ladies, of course it was incred.  After the gushfest came the sobfest, Emily had a surprise following their first look for her bride.  Imogen is from England, and because of that, not many of her people could make the trip.  So Emily had everyone send a video message and compiled them all for Imi.  Room full of criers.

I should rewind before getting to the actual wedding.

When Emily and Imogen came to us, their photographer they had originally booked had double booked them, dropped their wedding, and did all this seven months before their wedding.  SO, when they came to us, they were a little panicked.  But luckily, we clicked real hard.  The minute I heard Imogen's British accent on the phone, I lost my mind, and we spent so much time on the phone it honestly didn't feel like a "client" call at all.  They were already my friends.  The stars aligned for sure, but that wasn't the end of their vendor insanity.  Only TWO months before their wedding, their venue CLOSED, didn't contact any of their booked couples, and didn't respond or refund anyone.  WHAT??  Like NOT ok.  So their amazing planner, who I freaking LOVE, found them a brand new spot opening up, Emily and Imogen would be their second wedding ever.

Turns out, it was all awesome.  Their venue was stunning and unique, their photographers DEFINITELY showed up:) and they had such an amazing wedding.  They walked down the aisle together.  They had an actual garden's worth of floral.  Imogen wore a suit AND a dress.  Their photo booth was a little car.  Oh, and they had a horah at the end of the night and it was awesome.  Basically, we couldn't be more in love with them and their kickass families and friends.  We have already planned trips to England.  Em and Imi, we don't have the words to thank you, we love you so much.

Their amazing wedding is also featured over at Dancing With Her, an LGBTQ wedding blog and resource that we are obsessed with! Check out their engagement that was featured there too! So thankful that the story of these two is being shared by the bucketful.
